Emily Burnham first decided to become a therapist in second grade after her classmates asked her what she wanted to do when she grew up. Ever since, she has sought opportunities to further her education about interpersonal relationships. Born and raised in Arizona, Emily is native to the area. She graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. When she's not at the office, you can find Emily playing pickleball, listening to an audiobook, or creating videos for her YouTube channel: Elevate With Emily.
Deeply rooted in connection, Emily prioritizes a warm, empathetic, and genuine therapeutic relationship where you can explore areas where you feel stuck, isolated, or hopeless. Using a framework of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Emily will collaborate with you to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs and goals. Emily specializes in couples and family therapy, and she also works with individuals aged 12 and older.
Emily practices from a systemic and holistic perspective, believing that problems arise from a variety of influences, not solely from within an individual. Every relationship we have impacts our beliefs, thought processes, and interactions. Challenges are a normal part of life, signaling the areas in our life where change and growth are needed.
